In short: the Gozney Roccbox was replaced by the ARC Lite in 2026. On most criteria (weight, design, flame technology, price), the ARC Lite is better. The only point where the Roccbox had an advantage: the possibility of using wood in addition to gas. If this is your criterion, we recommend the Ooni Karu 2 (multi-fuel) instead.
Looking for the Gozney Roccbox? We get it! It's the oven that democratized quality homemade pizza in Canada since 2018. But now, Gozney officially replaced it in 2026 with a new oven, the ARC Lite.
Why the Roccbox was discontinued
This wasn't a decision we made. Gozney evolved its range. And after testing both ovens on our patio in Quebec City, we're convinced that the ARC Lite is a better oven for the vast majority of canadian home pizza makers.
But we're not going to convince you with "specs." We'll explain the real differences, point by point, because we've tested it.

Our verdict
If we had to sum it up in one sentence? The ARC Lite is a modernized Roccbox, lighter, with better flame performance, and a design that blends better into a backyard or on a balcony.
Most importantly, here's why we think it's better for 90% of people:
The ARC Lite is nearly half the weight (12 kg vs 20 kg). If you move your oven between the patio and the basement, or if you take it to the cottage, it's a game changer.
The "rolling" side flame of the ARC Lite is the same technology as the ARC, ARC XL, and Dome Gen 2 (Gozney's high-end ovens). The Roccbox used a more traditional flame. In the real world, this means more uniform cooking, less need to turn the pizza, and easier to achieve beautiful "leopard spotting."
The design is sleeker, more modern. The Roccbox had its charm with its silicone coating, but we must admit... the ARC Lite with its ceramic finish looks better in a yard. It's subjective, but it's something our customers tell us.
The price is competitive. At $549.99, the ARC Lite remains accessible. It's the ideal oven for someone who wants to enter the Gozney universe without investing $1000 or more.
When the ARC Lite IS NOT the right choice
We're not going to lie, the ARC Lite isn't perfect for everyone. Here are the three cases where we recommend something else.
You ABSOLUTELY want to be able to cook with wood
Not necessarily for the taste (because it doesn't change the result when cooking at 900F), but rather for the romance that wood-fired cooking offers.
This is the only real disadvantage of the ARC Lite vs the Roccbox. The Roccbox could operate on propane OR wood (with an additional burner). The ARC Lite is propane only.
If wood fire is non-negotiable for you, you'll love the Ooni Karu 2 (12") because it's multi-fuel (wood, charcoal, gas with adapter). It's the closest modern equivalent to the Roccbox.
You often make pizzas larger than 12".
The ARC Lite is limited to the 12" format, perfect for a family of 4 or a couple. If you entertain often and want 14" or 16" pizzas, look instead at the standard ARC (14") or the ARC XL (16"), same technology, same design, but with a larger capacity.
You want an integrated digital temperature display.
The Roccbox didn't have one, neither does the ARC Lite nor the Karu 2. If temperature precision is critical for you (home baking, low-temperature meats), look at the Karu 2 Pro, the standard ARC or the ARC XL which have an accurate digital gauge or buy an infrared thermometer.
Our honest recommendation
For 90% of people looking for a Roccbox, the ARC Lite is better. Lighter, more performant, better looking, same entry price. It's the natural successor, and propane cooking offers similar results to wood fire with more consistency and ease.
For wood fire purists? The Ooni Karu 2 is your option.
For those who want to invest in a lifetime oven with larger capacity, there's always the Gozney Dome Gen 2 (but that's a whole different ball game).
And if you're still hesitating, we're here.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Gozney Roccbox still available in Canada?
No. The Roccbox was officially replaced by the Gozney ARC Lite in 2026. It is no longer produced or distributed in Canada. If you are looking for a compact 12" Gozney pizza oven, the ARC Lite is the direct successor.
What is the main difference between the Roccbox and the ARC Lite?
Three major differences:
1. The ARC Lite is nearly half the weight (12 kg vs 20 kg).
2. It uses the same "rolling" side flame technology as Gozney's high-end ovens.
3. It operates on propane only, whereas the Roccbox could also be used with a wood burner.
Do my Roccbox accessories work with the ARC Lite?
Not all. Pizza peels and 12" cooking accessories are compatible. However, the cover, carrying bag, and Roccbox-specific stands do not work with the ARC Lite. Contact us if you have a specific question about an accessory, we have the answer.
Is the ARC Lite as fast as the Roccbox?
Faster, in fact. The ARC Lite reaches 950°F in 20 minutes and bakes a 12" pizza in about 60 seconds.
