Description

The Alfa Nano is Alfa's little gas oven, dressed in copper. It heats up fast and turns out a proper Neapolitan in 90 seconds, without taking over the whole patio.

Small as it is, it's a real Alfa, handmade in Italy. Four firebricks about 1.2 in thick hold the heat from one pizza to the next, double ceramic-fibre insulation keeps it in, and the stainless steel chamber rolls it back over the toppings.

It ships set up for propane, with the natural gas conversion kit in the box. If you run a gas line out to the backyard one day, it's ready.

Same footprint as the Moderno 1 Pizze, in the copper finish that made its name. Last one in stock, ready to ship from our warehouse.

Our advice

Go for it if you have a small patio, you mostly cook for two to four, and you want the ease of gas with the heat of a real Alfa.

Look at the Moderno 2 Pizze instead if you host often and want two pizzas in at once.

Our tip: add the Nano rolling base. The propane tank tucks underneath, and the oven rolls wherever the party is.

In the box:

  • The Alfa Nano gas oven, copper finish
  • Built-in gas burner, set up for propane
  • Natural gas conversion kit
  • Firebrick cooking floor
  • Chimney flue

Maintenance and Precautions

Everyday care

Let the oven cool, then brush the floor with a brass brush. No soap and no water on the brick: the next fire burns off whatever's left. Wipe the outside with a soft cloth.

Winter and protection

In Canada, keep the oven covered between uses with the Alfa cover. For winter, store it somewhere sheltered, or leave it outside well covered and off the ground.

Avoid

Don't crank a cold oven to full power the first few times: bring it up gradually to season the brick. Never use abrasive cleaners on the floor. Don't move the oven while it's hot.

Why we love it

We love it for the copper. It gives any corner of the patio a bit of trattoria. It heats up fast, holds its heat and stays out of your way between pizzas. A full Alfa, just smaller.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question? We're here to help! Call us at 1-888-606-7499

Contact us
Does the Nano make real Neapolitan pizza?
Yes. It hits 930°F (500°C), the heat a Neapolitan needs to bake in 60 to 90 seconds. The firebricks keep the floor hot between pizzas, so you can keep them coming.
Can I hook the Nano up to natural gas?
Yes. It ships set up for propane, and the natural gas conversion kit is in the box. Have a certified gas technician do the conversion and the hookup.
Can I burn wood in the gas Nano?
Not really. The burner takes up one side of the chamber and leaves no room for a proper wood fire. If wood is what you're after, have a look at our wood-fired Alfa ovens.
What's the difference between the Nano and the Moderno 1 Pizze?
They're almost the same size and both bake one pizza at a time. The Nano wears Alfa's original copper finish, while the Moderno 1 Pizze comes in Ruby Red or Anthracite Grey.
Can I use it year-round in Canada?
Yes. Keep it under its cover between uses and give it a few extra minutes to heat up when it's cold out. The double insulation handles big temperature swings well.
